Speak up!

h1 Monday, October 23rd, 2006

I’ve lost my voice.

Stop cheering. It’s not good for a PR person to lose their voice. We make our living off our words!

I sound like something that’s a cross between a frog and bullhorn - with a lovely scraping of the larynx mixed inbetween. I’ve gargled with salt water, downed hot tea with lemon and honey and everything else I can think of since last night and nothing has worked.

Any other suggestions?

Drip. Splat.

That’s what I heard at 5:30 this morning in my bathroom. At least if my roof is going to leak, it had the good enough sense to drip over my bathtub. I appreciate that fate, thanks.

It’s just really a disgusting feeling knowing that there is not one thing I can do to fix it. I can only stand there and watch it drip.

So I just came on into work - I can worry about it just as much here as there. Also I’ve bribed a college student on fall break to sit at my house and wait for the roofers. As long as I feed him and give him the remote, he’s happy as a clam.

Other than that the week hasn’t been that bad. Even though we’re super short-staffed on the work end, everything is getting done and being done well. Yay team!

The boss is on vacation next week so I might be singing a different tune then.

This has nothing to do with anything. It’s just fun.

Haven’t we all wanted to do this?

This just made me way too excited:

CBS is taping a new version of Name That Tune, with Donny Osmond as host, in 2007. The latest incarnation of the classic quiz show will be in a multi-format, combining elements of the game show formula and variety. A bonus round will also be added with a chance to win $1 million.

I’m totally going to try out for it. Because I would rock.

Tick tock tick tock….

There is nothing longer than a Friday afternoon starting at 3 PM.

Today though there is chocolate cake! One of the girls on my floor had a birthday and they brought in a fabulous cake to celebrate. I think every Friday afternoon should include cake. It would make the day so much better.

This weekend I will be attending the Frog Festival in Sumiton, Alabama. Sounds thrilling doesn’t it? I’m not really sure what a Frog Festival is. I’ve been to Mule Day but I doubt it’s the same thing.

Other than that I’ll be catching up on some reading, some crossstitching and of course more TV.

Is it Friday yet?

What a week. Between work and stuff and more stuff that I just don’t want to talk about here, it feels like it should be Friday already.

My only saving grace this week is the new television season. Everybody thinks I watch too much TV and so what if I do. I go to work every day; work out at night; go to church and spend time with my friends. I like being able to escape into a TV show at the end of the day. It helps me forget what’s going on with me for about an hour.

So let me watch my Grey’s Anatomy, Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, Smallville, LOST, Project Runway and Numbers in peace! I think it makes me a nicer person.

Oh and for those of you asking about my arm, there’s an updated picture after the jump.
